Overview of RSV Research Study

Our RSV research study is a randomized, maternal vaccine study designed to determine if an investigational vaccination could be used to leverage a mother's immune system in order to protect the baby from contracting RSV. The study's timeline can range from 12 to 24 months, initially assessing the mother then the continual assessment of the baby with scheduled visits.

What is RSV?

 

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is the cause for major respiratory illness in small children that ranges from mild to severe in symptoms, including sore throat, runny nose, coughing, and fever. These symptoms can lead to pneumonia or other bronchial infections.

RSV is particularly dangerous in infants and toddlers two years of age or younger.

You may be eligible to take part in the study if you are:

• between the ages of 18 and 49

• healthy and anticipate the birth of a healthy individual baby

• at least 24 to 36 weeks into your pregnancy to receive the vaccine

• willing to attend scheduled study visits and follow instructions

• not planning to have your baby at home
